How our rugs are made
The Craft
Every rug passes through many skilled hands — designers, dyers, weavers, washers and finishers — over several weeks.

From sketch to floor
- 01
Design
Our studio draws each design and builds its colour palette from hand-dyed yarn samples.
- 02
Dye
Wool and silk are dyed in small batches, giving the gentle tonal variation of a hand-made piece.
- 03
Weave
Artisans knot, tuft or weave the rug by hand — from a few weeks to several months.
- 04
Finish
Each rug is washed, sheared, carved and inspected by hand before it leaves the workshop.

Hand-knotted
Knot by knot
The most traditional and durable technique. Each knot is tied individually by hand onto the warp threads. A single rug can hold hundreds of thousands of knots and take months to finish — an heirloom that lasts generations.

Hand-tufted
Painterly freedom
Yarn is punched through a canvas backing with a hand-held tufting tool, allowing expressive, contemporary designs and carved high-low textures. Tufted rugs are plush, quicker to make and beautifully versatile.

Flatweave
Light and reversible
Woven on a loom without a pile, flatweaves are thin, light and often reversible — ideal for dining rooms, layering and busy spaces.
