The circle and rectangle exist within this depth as structural clearings — forms defined by their drawn edges within a field that otherwise gives nothing away. At 15 to 20 mm thickness in 100% New Zealand wool, the pile is generous enough to fully support this tonal density. The surface is a material environment before it is a designed object.
